What this is for

A shared coordinate system for talking about a sound. Everyone listens on their own headphones and drops a note wherever something happens, then the group discusses the same moments — by timecode, rather than "that scratchy bit near the end".

The two tabs

Listen & noteone person, one audio file. Play it, press M where something catches your ear, type a comment, tag it, then Export notes — a small .json file. Open notes reads it back so you can carry on later.
Group viewwhoever is running the session loads the same audio file plus everyone's exported .json files. All the notes merge onto one timeline: the amber strip shows where attention clustered, and the list shows every comment labelled Listener 1, 2, 3… in shuffled order, so no names are on screen. Filter by tag, or use Walk the notes to play four seconds around each in turn.

Keyboard

Spaceplay / pause
Mdrop a note at the playhead. Raise lag in the toolbar to have notes land slightly earlier, which cancels your reaction time when marking by ear.
Enterin a comment box: done, hands the keyboard back to the timeline (Shift+Enter for a new line). Comments save as you type; there is nothing to submit.

Reading the display

waveformthe outer shape is peak level; the solid core is RMS — roughly, how loud it actually sounds.
spectrogramfrequency up the side on a log scale, time across. Brighter is louder. Hover anywhere to read the exact time and frequency.
